Did You Know?

So what’s so interesting about space? Not just were stars are…but the spaces between the stars. Astronomers like to study this space because, surprisingly, it’s so important to understanding what makes up space.

There are 3 important reasons for studying interstellar space:

1.) There is nearly as much mass in the “voids” among the stars as there is in the stars themselves.

2.) Interstellar space is the region out of which new stars are born.

3.) Interstellar space is also the region into which old stars expel their matter when they die.

So, based on reasons 2 and 3, stars are phoenixes. They are born, die, and are reborn from their ashes.
